teampool scholarships awarded to computer science students at the University of Salzburg
On Thursday, October 23, 2025, teampool personal service gmbh awarded scholarships and prizes to two computer science students at the University of Salzburg. Two students received a new scholarship, and two scientific papers were awarded prizes of €1,000 each.
New scholarships for talented computer science students
Students Yvonne Holzer and Filip Kipman can look forward to computer science scholarships worth €1,000 per month. In addition, the bachelor’s thesis of Manuel Lankes and the master’s thesis of Anna Bolotina were each awarded €1,000. These theses are characterized by a high level of technical expertise and innovative approaches.
Honors in Seekirchen
The award ceremony took place at teampool’s headquarters in Seekirchen. The rector of the University of Salzburg, Bernhard Fügenschuh, vice-rector Jutta Horejs-Höck, and teampool managing director Ewald Ottradovetz attended the ceremony.
“The award-winning theses impressively demonstrate how much innovative power and technical depth are already possible during one’s studies,” emphasized Ottradovetz. Nikolaus Augsten, professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Salzburg, was impressed by the diversity of the résumés and the enthusiasm of the young talents for their field.
About the award winners:
Scholarships:
Computer science student Filip Kipman, multiple state champion in chess and chemistry, is being awarded the prestigious teampool scholarship for his exceptional achievements. With his broad commitment to STEM subjects and his own small business, Kipman is one of the most promising young talents at the University of Salzburg.
Computer science student Yvonne Holzer focuses primarily on artificial intelligence and robotics. While still at school, she developed a machine learning system for the automatic evaluation of gymnastics exercises – demonstrating how practical and future-oriented computer science can be.
Scientific work:
Computer scientist Anna Bolotina was awarded the teampool prize for her outstanding master’s thesis on the symbolic analysis of RISC-V code. Her research makes it possible to mathematically evaluate the efficiency of programs – an innovative approach with potential for complex applications such as climate models.
Computer science student Manuel Lankes was awarded the teampool prize for his innovative bachelor’s thesis on accelerating similarity searches. His research on Jaro-Winkler similarity join shows how intelligent algorithms can make data analysis more efficient and practical.
