Scientific Staff Member in Research and Teaching Operations

At the Department of Computer Science, the position of Scientific Staff Member in Research and Teaching Operations in accordance with the Universities Act (UG) and the Employees Act as a University Assistant pursuant to § 26 of the Collective Agreement for Universities (PhD Candidate) is now open for application. (Employment group B1; the minimum gross monthly salary for this position is € 2,786.10 (14 times per year) and may increase based on relevant prior experience as per collective agreement regulations.)

• Expected start date: As soon as possible
• Employment duration: 4 years
• Weekly working hours: 30
• Working hours: As agreed

Areas of responsibility:

• Scientific support in research and teaching operations in the field of algorithm development and analysis, particularly randomized-distributed algorithms;
• Administrative tasks;
• Independent research activities, including the preparation and publication of a doctoral dissertation;
• Starting from the second year of employment, likely independent teaching of two semester hours per week.

Employment requirements:

• Completed diploma or master’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics;
• Enrollment in a relevant doctoral program at Paris Lodron University Salzburg.

Desired additional qualification:

• Prior knowledge in the field of randomized and/or distributed algorithms.
